Oxfordfirst - Boarding Schools
UK Education is famous around the world for its quality. A major component of the traditional system is the Boarding School. There are hundreds around the UK, each with its own character; some are single-sex, others mixed, some have a specialism, others provide general education. Boarding Schools provide a relaxed, but disciplined, closed environment where stability and individual pupil safety is paramount, and where teaching is conducted in small groups. To succeed students need to be motivated, self-disciplined and well-mannered.
Entry to a top quality boarding school is by examination, and often, interview. Preparation is essential and this can be achieved with a Pre-Boarding programme designed to assist young students. Normally students receive lessons specialising in English and Maths and other academic subjects while also preparing them for entrance examinations. Students may aim for Common Entrance, Scholarship or special entry examinations or, if older, the GCSE/A level examinations.
The length of time spent in the Pre-Boarding programme depends on individual circumstances as each child has different a background, skills and needs. There are hundreds of Boarding Schools in the UK, each with its own character, so it is important to obtain good advice. We have excellent links with many British schools and so can assist you in placing your child. We can also provide Guardianship.
