The MBA degree is the top qualification to 'prove' you have got what it takes to be a successful key-player in business management. Of course, you should expect a significant salary boost from gaining an MBA, a return on the investment of your time, effort and money.

An MBA Feature

Most postgraduate qualifications develop learning further in a particular subject; going deeper in acquiring knowledge in a  narrower field. An MBA course is different in that rather than being so focussed on a body of knowledge, its aim is equally to develop the skills of its participants to be able to take key roles in the challenging and varied world of business.

With an MBA you should be equipped to work in business with confidence that you will be in a position to make decisions based on rigorous examination of facts, able to pursue research, to be able to communicate effectively with others in the world of business and crucially be able to play an executive leadership role.

Entry

To enter an MBA programme you normally need to be qualified to good first degree level with  work experience; however, some programmes allow for a more flexible entry. For example, there are other foundation routes to gain an equivalent to a first degree; these are particularly useful if your earlier qualification is in a non-business area such as Engineering.
