UK Education
You are probably reading this page as you are looking for a course or advice on education in UK. I hope you will find what you seek on this site. UK education is famous worldwide for its quality - when you have a UK qualification you know it will be recognised everywhere. If you would like a summary of the UK education system and its examinations click here.
For each level of qualification there are entry qualifications and the whole process of education is like climbing a ladder - you start at the bottom and climbing a rung at a time you can reach the top. However, there are some places on the ladder where there are alternatives and some places where there are obstacles.
An ex ample of a possible obstacle is English; to make progress in your studies, you need to be proficient in your English and so on this site you can find out how to gain the necessary English language qualifications to enable you to study well. You should not try to avoid this step as I have met many students who find that although admitted to a course they cannot really cope with the material they are expected to cover and fail when it comes to assessments, particularly exams. It is crucial that you become proficient in English if you are going to study in UK.
An example of where you might avoid a step on the ladder is with A levels. As you probably know these are the normal admission requirement to enter university in UK. There is an alternative route which is a Foundation programme which covers bridging material from the normal High School Diploma while also making sure that you English language skills are sufficient for undergraduate study.
Even for postgraduate study you may need a bridge. That includes the MBA particularly if you are hoping to use it to make a change in your career path, for example, from IT or Engineering into Business. Unlike in many other countries, the normal postgraduate programme in the UK is one year long. You need to be absolutely ready in terms of study skills and English language level before you start. There are details of courses that can get you prepared for PG study on this site here.
